Written, illustrated, designed and self-published completely by Denis Caron. L.A.W.L.S. started as a webcomic in 2010 was compiled into a book when it was successfull funded on Kickstarter in 2012.
Synopsis:
Come along on an adventureously awkward journey with the story's main characters Joseph, Autumn, Cadence, and her pet monster Rudy, as they find themselves in the midst of a world of intrigue. While every character may have their own motivation of joining the party, one thing's for sure, they all seem to have it in for Joseph.
This comic is a mysterious romantic comedy with themes of pop culture, music, classic video games, and even a hint of magic lore. In this universe, animals can talk, whales can fly, and hats can have a deviously snarky attitude towards humans.

An exploration of alternative forms of humor, art, and storytelling, ALT. Comics is a spin-off series from Denis Caron’s original series L.A.W.L.S. [Large Air Whales Like Silence]. Originally conceptualized to allow him to continue to post comics online while he worked on the L.A.W.L.S. Volume 1 book. Created as a gag-a-day comic instead of having a longer over arching story arc to gave him the freedom to play with the characters more freely and experiment with different techniques. These were originally published as a webcomic at altcomic.com.
Words of Interest
A humorous study of the English language, Words of Interest was created by Denis Caron as a way to learn new dictionary words, while continuing to explore comedy writing. Unlike his other project, the focus of this series was on words rather than art. To be able to output material at a quicker rate, the comic was presented in an old-timey black and white color, with recycled assets from either his other comics, royalty free images, or simple drawings.
