What is Raven Stitch?
Raven Stitch is a plush toy company created by Denis Caron in 2016, after the success of his Kickstarter project (originally titled The Magic Element Plush Toys) in 2015. It is a subsidiary of Corvink, the parent company that oversees all creative projects made by him.
To insure it has its own identity separate from Corvink, while still keeping some of the general themes (ie. a black bird as part of the logo), Raven Stitch was given its own branding, color scheme, website, etc. An important distinction between the two brands is that Corvink explored darker themes (sometimes not appropriate for children), while Raven Stitch is intended to have a very family friendly, kid safe, focus. However, Raven Stitch was not made only for children. The designs often have deeper meanings that can appeal to “kids of all ages,” including adults. For instance, The Plush Elements on the surface, look like cute plush toys of the elements, but they are more than just that. By making them all have a non-generic smiling face (like most plush toys do), they also explore the concept of the human emotions and their depths. Each toy has its own identity, just like people do. Additionally, for those who have an interest in astrology, each element is associated with a Zodiac sign. Each of which match the emotions displayed on their face, in one way or another. Though it’s important to understand that this is just a fun added concept. It has nothing to do with pagan beliefs directly, and not something that reflects the views of the brand or its creator.
Originally conceptualized as a single fire element plush toy, the Plush Elements became the flag ship product line for Raven Stitch once all 4 elements (Fire, Water, Earth & Air) were funded during the initial Kickstarter campaign. They are all now available at the Raven Stitch Online Store, Amazon, eBay, Denis’ Etsy Store, and select brick and mortar retailer partners.
As of 2024, Raven Stitch is working to expand its product lines to include more plush toys, enamel pins, and even art prints by Denis Caron.
